Aptamil PDF

Aptamil PDF (Post Discharge Formula)

Special nutrition for premature babies

Premature babies have an increased need for energy, protein, and some minerals and vitamins compared to term infants.

Our unique Aptamil PDF (Post Discharge Formula) is formulated to meet the specific nutritional needs of preterm infants with increased growth needs starting at 1,800 g after hospital discharge. The composition corresponds to the current scientific recommendations on nutrition of premature babies after hospital discharge. With its adjusted energy, protein and nutrient content, Aptamil PDF supports regular weight gain and growth.

Our unique expertise

Based on over 40 years of research, our team of more than 400 scientists and experts has developed our special Aptamil Prematil diet, tailored to the special nutritional needs of premature babies.

Aptamil PDF (Post Discharge Formula) was developed especially for the special nutritional needs of preterm infants from 1,800 g body weight after hospital discharge. The content of protein, energy, minerals and vitamins for a discharge diet is between that of a premature infant formula and a commercially available starter diet and is therefore suitable for this transitional phase. According to current scientific recommendations, a discharge formula should be fed to premature babies at least until the calculated date of birth, if necessary up to 3 months beyond that. Please adhere to the exact recommendation of your hospital follow-up team or paediatrician  regarding the duration of feeding. This way, your baby will not only get all the important nutrients, but also sufficient energy for the final spurt of their “catching up” growth.
